Characteristics
Gray-white or light yellow powder, slightly bitter. The specific gravity is 1.45-1.54, and the melting point is above 166°C. It is soluble in chloroform, partially soluble in benzene, ethanol, carbon tetrachloride, and insoluble in gasoline, water, ethyl acetate and alkali. Storage is stable.
Applications
DM is a general-purpose amine antioxidant with particularly excellent resistance to heat, oxygen and aging in the rubber industry. It is especially suitable for all-steel and semi-steel radial tires, and is widely used in various tires, hoses, tapes, rubber shoes, rubber cloth products and other general industrial rubber products. It can also be used in latex products.
DM has medium vulcanization speed in NR and SR, flat vulcanization characteristics, and can be applied to most general-purpose rubbers. There is no pollution and no fading in the "white" rubber compound. Used as a plasticizer and retarder in neoprene. In the synthesis of high polymers, it usually needs to be used together with a secondary accelerator, and the scorch safety is better than that of M.
